Ayurveda & Yoga in Rishikesh

I wanted to go to a yoga retreat before meeting a group tour and through Trip Advisor located Veda 5, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. It was the best decision, the facility is new and immaculate, the staff was welcome and caring, treated us like family, the chef made incomparable vegan food, subtle, warm and nurturing, and the Ayurvedic doctor and treatments opened us up to a different philosophy of well being. The experience was all encompassing and doing yoga in the sunshine in January surrounded by the Himalayas with birds chirping above us was the icing on the cake. We had a cooking lesson, fire ceremony, sitar music, and morning coffee brought to the room and we were sent back from dinner with a thermos of warm seasoned milk at bedtime to help us sleep. On our last day, the manager didn't want us to leave without seeing the Ganges River, so he arranged for a car and driver to take us there. The facility provides free airport transfers, a very welcome bonus. You can choose what level of service you want to receive, we met a woman who just came for the peace and quiet and was very happy looking at the view. We wish Stuart, the guest manager, and the chef many long years at Veda 5 and would love to return.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Veda5. I enjoyed one fantastic day and night which included modern amenities and excellent customer service. I was very impressed with the quality of the Ayurvedic food and chef's passion about the experience of both cooking and eating. Next time I visit I’d definitely join him for a cooking class. The rooms are spacious and clean and are a serious departure from the standards of rishikesh. Veda5 is very detailed oriented and I found myself satisfied with its high quality offering including yoga and tea time. I also loved the opportunity to have an environment free from the constant sound of construction and movement in rishikesh city life. Thank you for accommodating my additional requests. I’d strongly recommend Veda5 to any traveler who needs a break from the usual and wishes the experience the best that’s Rishikesh has to offer.

WOW! My wife and I started our trip in India at Veda5 and we are so grateful that we did. After 20 hours on planes and having to adjust to a 11.5 hour time difference, this place took such great care of us. We met with the doctor the first afternoon we arrived and instantly knew we were in the right place. We had daily treatments which included traditional Ayurvedic treatments. Yoga is held twice a day with the morning class being a lighter practice and the afternoon class being more for advanced yogis like my wife. There was also daily sound meditation each afternoon. What my wife and I miss the most though is the food. Chef Bart is amazing!!! Not only is he an incredible chef but he is genuinely an incredible person. He made sure each meal was prepared to our dietary restrictions and needs. Of our two weeks in India, Chef Bart’s food at Veda5 was no doubt the best. At the end of our stay the doctor reviewed in great detail a plan for us to take home including diet. You get to spend your days at a gorgeous facility in the midst of the Himalayas. Wow! We only wish we had stayed longer.

My wife and I stayed there for 3 days in mid July. The location is spectacular. Up in the mountains, away from the city and any noise of any kind. Extremely peaceful. They have managed excellence in so many levels. The service...kind, honest, sincere and very professional. The food....wow. Extremely satisfying. One can taste the quality of the ingredients and the unique flavour combinations are a treat for the tongue. The chef is a magician. The rooms are cozy and inviting with amazing views through large windows. The morning yoga and evening meditation sessions were fantastic. They also took us for a trek to a near by temple, through a simple village which was a sweet experience. I can't say enough about this place.....worth every penny.

We stayed at Veda5 retreat for 6 days and loved the place. Middle of the hills, quiet, luxurious and too good. We choose Detox plan and were really happy and satisfied with the results after 6 days. They have daily yoga and meditation class, the spa therapies and ozone swimming pool. The treatment done by professionals complemented by proper dosha diet plan. Surely the best place in Himalayas.

Just incredible. Gorgeous valley views and remarkable retreat. Initially i was worried to book 7 days detox plan but now sincerely feel even 2 weeks is too less at Veda5. The staff there is amazing, hospitable and ever smiling. The vegetarian food is outstanding, the yoga teacher and Ayurveda doctor are professionals and caring. The treatments are too good specially my favourite therapist Meena. Being a solo traveller, I have stayed in few wellness retreats in the world but believe me Veda5 deserves top ranking in terms of cost, quality of services and holistic treatments. A must visit place. Surely be back soon in 2019.

Friendly staff, excellent food, excellent spa treatments, clean rooms, relaxing atmosphere, quiet environment. I have spent the best holiday in my life. The oil treatments at the spa were of great help. The views of the mountains were super amazing. The fresh clean air. The healthy food. A heaven in the Himalayas.

I am still staying here with my husband and some friends and the experience is absolutely marvelous. From the time we entered the resort, to the dining and yoga classes - the staff was extremely polite and caring. They made us feel like a part of a family - one that everyone expects the time they step into a hotel.

My stay in Veda5 was full of happy and lovely moments with my sisters. Yes, no doubt it's in a beautiful location. Main thing was about hosting. All staffs were so supportive and helpful by nature. Specially Jitendra, Saurabh, Shashi and Prashant. Jitendra was such a caring person. The chef made some good homely satvik food. Meditation and yoga with Swami ji and Helena, joining the Hawan all of them were cherished and relaxing moments. Thank you so much Mr. Stuart for all the support and good package. Thanks Dr. Shuchita for all your advices on being healthy. Latha and Kusum for some good massage therapy. Have so many things to cherish at Veda5. Choosing Veda5 was one of my good decision.

I recently came to India for some business setup in Dehradun. I was looking for some different place and I walked into this place and they offered immense hospitality. I was surprised to see this kind of big set up in the middle of mountains and overall, my experience was awesome. I am fascinated with the hospitality.

Experienced a whole new level of serenity and peace at Veda5. Everything from food to meditation is an amazing experience. And thanks to no wifi, we got more time with nature than our phones. A must visit for the ones who are looking for an escape from daily grind.

Visited India (Haridwar & Rishikesh) after long time for some spiritual reasons, nothing is changed. Booked Veda5 and really piece of heaven on earth. Very beautiful landscaped in Himalayas. Cosy and comfortable stay and spa treatments after tiring travelling from Australia. Staff is cooperative and very helpful. Ultimate destination for solitude and wellness.
